Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort Coming 2014

Universal Orlando surprised everyone today with the announcement of a fourth on-site hotel via Twitter and Facebook.
Hotel Exterior. (c) Universal Orlando Resort. All rights reserved.
Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort will straddle the moderate/value pricing line offering both 900 regular hotel rooms and 900 family suites and will be operated by Loews Hotels.  It is unclear whether or not this new resort will be added to Universal Orlando's water taxi service.
Lobby. (c) Universal Orlando Resort. All rights reserved.
The new resort will offer early admission to Universal's two theme parks, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida, but Express Passes will not be complimentary.
Pool area. (c) Universal Orlando Resort. All rights reserved.
Cabana Bay Beach Resort will serve a previously untapped market of vacationing families on a budget.  As Universal Orlando Resort continues to grow in popularity due to the success of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, a resort on this level was needed.
Suite Interior. (c) Universal Orlando Resort. All Rights reserved.
The fourth on-site hotel will open in 2014 in perfect time to serve the crowds coming for whatever replaces Soundstage 44 and the second phase of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opening at Universal Studios around 2015.

Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort is just another step in Universal's quest to become a more well-rounded resort.  The "Year to Be Here" and Potter have brought it a long way.  This new resort is just another huge step.
